T20 World Cup: Harbhajan Singh took a dig at the Indian selectors in telling Yuzvendra Chahal to keep bowling at the right pace and said he still hopes to see the wrist-spinner in the Indian squad for the tournament.

Veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh took a dig at the selectors for their reasoning behind not picking wrist-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup. Harbhajan said that he still hopes to see Chahal in the 15-man squad.
“You have given ur best as always.. keep it up.. and make sure u keep bowling the right pace .. Not too slow OK..still hoping to see you in team India for T20 World Cup.. Champion bowler,” said Harbhajan in a tweet that he posted in reply to Chahal’s post in which he said that he is looking forward to the rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season, in which he is playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Sharing light on the omission of Chahal, chief selector Chetan Sharma had earlier said: “Yuzvendra Chahal’s name was discussed. But we picked Rahul Chahar over Yuzi as we wanted someone who bowls fast and gets pace off the pitch. He also gets the ball to grip through the surface.”
Chahal himself had taken a dig at the explanation that Sharma had provided.

The 31-year-old was the first Indian bowler to take six wickets in a T20 International. He has taken a total of 63 wickets for India in the shortest format and has taken 14 wickets in 12 matches this season in the IPL.
