A Sikh medicine practitioner died after being shot four times in Pakistan’s Peshwar on Thursday. The accused are yet to be named.
Hakeem Sardar Satnam Singh was shot four times.
A Sikh hakeem (Unani medicine practitioner) was shot by unidentified men in Pakistan’s Peshawar on Thursday. Hakeem Sardar Satnam Singh (Khalsa) was hit by four bullets, said police.
The shooters, however, managed to escape from the crime scene. Sources said Singh was running a clinic on Charsadda Road in the city.
A cop team later reached the spot and cordoned off the area to nab the culprits. The reason behind the murder was not yet ascertained.
The police further stated that the physician had arrived in Peshawar from Hassan Abdaal a day earlier.
Meanwhile, the Capital City Police officer, (CCPO) Peshawar, said the case was being investigated.
The police are investigating the matter from different angles and the possibility of terrorism is also being probed.
According to the 2017 census, Hindus constitute the largest religious minority in Pakistan. Christians make up the second largest religious minority. The Ahmadis, Sikhs and Parsis are also among the notable religious minorities in Pakistan.
