Wayanad:  Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today said that “it was possible” for the BJP-led NDA government to slash the prices of petrol and diesel further as the price of crude oil has “dipped considerably” in the international market.

“Since the price of crude oil has dipped considerably in the last few months when compared to the price during the period of UPA government, so it was possible to slash the price of petrol and diesel by Rs. 30 and 20 respectively from the present rate,” Mr Chandy said at a Congress party function.

It was due to the persistent pressure put by the Congress MPs that the Narendra Modi government reduced the price of petrol and diesel three times, he said.
