Oppo has launched the new reno series smartphones in India. The brand unveiled the Oppo Reno 7 series. It is the successor to the Oppo Reno 6 series. The lineup consists of Oppo Reno 7 5G and Oppo Reno 7 Pro 5G. They are premium mid-range smartphones from the brand. The smartphone series arrives with some attractive and spectacular specs and features. Oppo Reno 7 5G and Oppo Reno 7 Pro 5G Overview

Design And Display

Taking off with the design, the Oppo Reno 7 series comes with a gorgeous and beautiful design. Oppo Reno 7 5G is similar to the pro variant but it does not have a flat-edge design. Whereas, the Oppo Reno 7 Pro 5G retains similar Reno 6‘s flat-edge design. The Reno 7 5G comes with a thickness of 7.8 mm & weighs about 173 gm and the Reno 7 Pro 5G has a thickness of 7.5 mm and weighs only 180 gm. The brand claims that Oppo Reno Pro 5G is the slimmest Reno ever. Both the smartphones have a rectangular camera module housing with a triple-camera setup at the rear. The display has a punch-hole cutout to house a selfie camera at the front.

Oppo Reno 7 5G flaunts the 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display while the Oppo Reno 7 Pro 5G features a bit bigger 6.55 inches Full HD+ AMOLED display. Both of the smartphones come with a 90 Hz refresh rate, 180 Hz touch sampling rate, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection along a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. Oppo Reno 7 5G offers a 20-9 aspect ratio, 90.8% screen-to-body ratio, 409 PPI density, and 800 nits peak screen brightness. Similarly, the pro variant features a 92.8% screen-to-body ratio, 20-9 aspect ratio, 402 PPI density, and 920 nits peak screen brightness. For biometrics, both smartphones support an under-display fingerprint sensor, and face unlock recognition.

Cameras 

Now, moving into the optical department of smartphones. Both the smartphones flaunt the same triple camera setup at the rear with a rectangular camera module. Oppo Reno 7 5G sports a 64 MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture, whereas the Reno 7 Pro 5G variant has a 50 MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture. Other than that, both phones consist of the same setup of an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens  f/2.2 aperture, and a 2 MP macro sensor  f/2.4 aperture. 

On the front, both the smartphones come with a 32 MP selfie snapper with an f/2.4 aperture. It is an octa-core chipset based on 6nm processing that comes with a maximum clock rate of up to 2.4GHz and ARM Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. On the other hand, the high-end variant Oppo Reno 7 5G Pro rocks a  MediaTek Dimensity 1200-Max chipset. 

In terms of memory configuration, Oppo Reno 7 5G is paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, and 256GB UFS 2.2 internal storage. Likewise, the Oppo Reno 7 5G Pro is coupled with 12GB LPDDR4X RAM, and a 256GB UFS 3.1 storage onboard.  On the software front, Both the smartphones run on Android 11 with ColorOS 12 on top.

Now talking about the battery prowess of the Oppo Reno 7 series, both the Oppo Reno 7 5G and Oppo Reno 7 Pro 5G comes fueled by a non-removable 4,500mAh capacity battery. Both the smartphones support a 65W SuperVOOC fast charging technology. It also has reverse charging. The phone has USB Type-C 2.0 for charging. The brand claims that this fast charging can charge this device up to 100% within 31 minutes.
