The National Youth Day is observed on January 12, every year. In the year 1984, the Indian government declared Swami Vivekananda’s birthday to be celebrated as National Youth Day. The day is dedicated to Swami Vivekananda.
The Covid-19 pandemic has affected the mental health of people, especially youth, causing cases of depression and stress among them. Just like education is important for a bright future of youth, mental and physical fitness is also essential. The youth will be able to excel in their studies, only when they are mentally fit. Today, the majority of the youth are suffering from stress, depression, heart-related diseases, obesity, diabetes, and other mental health issues from a young age. The main causes of all of this include poor nutrition, a haphazard lifestyle, and so on.
On National Youth Day, we have listed some stress management tips for the young age generation to try and incorporate into their daily lifestyle.
Take Enough Sleep
With their hectic schedules, youngsters are prone to sleep deprivation. Working while sleep-deprived is, unfortunately, a big disadvantage. You’re less productive, you’re more likely to struggle with learning, and you could even be in danger while driving.
Don’t forget to stick to your sleep routine. Take at least 8 hours of sleep every night and power naps if needed.
Exercise On A Regular Basis
Regular exercise is one of the healthiest ways to let off stress. Youngsters can include exercise into their daily routines by doing yoga in the morning, walking or biking to the office or campus, or studying for tests with a friend while walking on a treadmill at the gym. Maintaining a regular fitness routine for the rest of your life will help you live longer and enjoy your life fully.
Take Deep Breaths For Relaxation
When your body is reacting to stress, it is often that you will not be able to think as clearly as you could. Breathing exercises are an effective technique to relax quickly. These can be done almost anywhere to relieve stress in minutes, and they’re especially good for relieving anxiety before or even during exams, and other times when stress is overpowering.
Play Some Music
Music, a convenient stress reliever with numerous cognitive benefits, can help you release tension and either relax or stimulate your mind, depending on the situation. Students might benefit from music by listening to classical music while studying, listening to lively music to “wake up,” or relaxing with their favourite slow songs.
Organise Yourself
Clutter can lead to stress, reduced productivity, and even financial loss. Many people live in a congested environment, which can affect their mental peace. Maintaining a minimalist, calming place devoid of distractions and clutter is one approach to lessen the amount of stress you encounter. This can reduce stress and even save time when looking for misplaced objects.
Consume A Balanced Diet
You may not realise it, but your food has the ability to either increase or deplete your mental strength. A healthy diet can be used as a stress reliever as well as a study aid. Diet-related mood swings, light-headedness, and other symptoms can be avoided by improving your diet.
