SRINAGAR: NIA on Saturday carried out raids at eight locations in six districts of J&K, besides Rajasthan’s Jodhpur, in connection with a case related to planning and conspiracy for undertaking violent terrorist acts in the Union Territory and elsewhere in the country, including New Delhi, by Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad and other terror organizations.
J&K districts where raids were conducted are Sopore, Kupwara, Shopian, Rajouri, Budgam and Ganderbal. The NIA also raided some places in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur district.
“The case relates to planning and conspiracy for undertaking violent acts in J&K and other major cities, including New Delhi, by cadres of organisations like Laskhar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, Al Badr, and their affiliates such as The Resistance Front, People Against Fascist Forces, etc.,” the NIA said in a statement.
The central probe agency has arrested 28 people in the case so far.
“During the searches conducted today, various incriminating documents, digital devices, SIM cards and digital storage devices were seized… Further investigation in the case continues,” the statement said.
