NEW DELHI: Amid efforts in the Maldives to target India through a so-called ‘India Out’ social media campaign, the government in Male on Wednesday strongly rejected attempts to spread “false information” saying New Delhi will always remain a “true” and a “trusted friend” of the Maldivian people.
The Maldives government also asked all parties to act responsibly and refrain from spreading false information that could undermine the country’s relations with its neighbours. “India has always been Maldives’ closest ally and trusted neighbour,” it said in a statement. “The government of Maldives rejects attempts to spread false information through media, using the so-called ‘India Out’…,” it said.
