NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi led consultation and brain-storming on the way forward for Budget announcements through 11 webinars aimed at helping the ministries and departments to hit the ground running as soon as the new fiscal year begins from April 1 and to ensure their time-bound implementation.
The webinars were aimed at creating a sense of ownership by all stakeholders in its implementation, the government said on Wednesday. It added that the shifting of Budget to February 1 and interactions in the webinars have also enabled the state governments to get better visibility of priorities and thus, plan their budgets better.
The webinars on different subjects linked to the Budget announcements were related to different ministries and departments including higher education, rural development, agriculture, defence, health, department for promotion of industry and internal trade, new and renewable energy and disinvestment department.
Budget-2022 has made several announcements for the economic growth of the country and to further the wellbeing of our people, the PMO said in a statement. “These webinars covered a diverse spectrum of subjects like SMART agriculture, PM Gatishakti, ‘Aatmanirbharta’ in defence, digital education and dynamic skilling, inclusive and equitable healthcare delivery, Make in India and financing for the aspirational economy,” it said.
The webinars saw participation of around 40,000 stakeholders which included entrepreneurs, small and medium industries, exporters, global investors, representatives of the central and state governments, and youth from the world of startups.
The PMO also said that a large number of suggestions were received by the government during these webinars.
