The National Testing Agency, NTA, has released the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE Main 2022 notification on its official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in, on March 1, 2022. The JEE Mains Exam, however, has been introduced to a lot of modifications this year. Candidates can check the JEE Mains 2022 Registration process, exam pattern, eligibility criteria, and other details below.

JEE Mains 2022: Registration

The JEE Mains 2022 registration process will end on March 31, 2022. The exams will take place in two sessions: the first will take place from April 16 to April 21, 2022, and the second will take place from May 24 to May 29, 2022. Candidates can download the complete schedule for both sessions by clicking on the link provided below.

JEE Mains 2022: Number of Attempts

Candidates were given a total of four attempts to pass the 2021 Mains exam, while only two attempts will be given for the JEE Mains 2022 exam. This decision was made due to the country’s Covid-19 condition and case count stabilising. The JEE Mains exam allowed only one attempt at first, however, this was raised to two attempts in 2019.

JEE Mains 2022: Eligibility Criteria

There is no upper age limit for applicants who want to take the JEE Mains exam. The JEE Mains 2022 can be attempted by those who cleared their Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2020, 2021, or are scheduled to take it in 2022.
This year, candidates will be given a board eligibility concession for admissions to NIT, IIT, and GFTI. For the past two years, concessions in board eligibility have been a factor due to COVID-19.

Candidates can visit the official website and read the NTA’s information bulletin to better comprehend and learn more about the JEE Mains 2022 Examination. The deadline for JEE Mains 2022 applications is March 31, 2022.

JEE Mains 2022: Exam Pattern

This year, a lot of changes have been introduced, apart from the number of attempts. The JEE Mains 2022 will be conducted in two sections- Section A and B. Section A will have 20 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ) from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Section B will include 10 questions centred on deriving numerical values. The B.Arch Part 1 Paper will be divided into two parts as well. Questions based on mathematics will be included in sections A and B. Part 2 will consist of a drawing test, and Part 3 will consist of a skill test.

This year, however, there will be negative marking for every question, including those in Section B. Negative marking was not done for numerical value-based questions till last year. Candidates will receive four (4) marks for each correct answer and one (1) mark will be deducted for each incorrect response.
