Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and 13 others killed in an Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter crash on December 8, 2021.
Dr. M.M.A Faridi, principal of Era’s Lucknow Medical College addressed the mourners. During his address all attendees became very sentimental and complete silence descended in the hall when Dr Faridi counted the unfortunate tragic incident that took place near Coonoor, Tamil Nadu.
Dr. Faridi, in the memory of martyred jawans, lighted 14 lamps and offered floral tribute to the departed souls. He described CDS Rawat as a very brave, honest and upright officer who brought several changes in the command of the Army including establishing Jint Command of Armed Forces. His services will be remembered forever. Late Mrs Madhulika Rawat made several schemes for the welfare of the serving and retired Armymen wives and widows being the president of the DWWA.
“The country has lost brave soldiers and this void will be difficult to fill. But they will live in our heart forever,” concludes Dr. Faridi.
Condolence meeting for CDS, Mrs CDS and other Army officers held at Era University, Lucknow.
The condolence meeting was organised on a hybrid basis due to Covid protocol. About 70 officials of Era University, and Principal and ministerial staff, nurses and other health care workers of Era’s LMC physically attended the prayer meeting. Dr. Indra V, Principal Era College of Nursing, Dr. Riaz Mehadi, Dean, Faculty of Allied Sciences, Dr. Siddhartha Chandel, Medical Superintendent, Colonel (Retd.) Ajit Kumar Srivastav, HOD Community Medicine, Prof. Kumkum Srivastava, Prof. Anu Chandra, Registrar, Dr. Ghazala Zaidi, Assistant Registrar, Dr Mohini Chaurasia, Principal College of Pharmacy, Dr. Naveen Singh, Hospital Administrator and several retired Army personnel including Hony. Captain Nazakat Hussain, Hony. Captain K.P. Yadav, Hony. Subedar Major Rajveer Singh Yadav, Subedar A. M. Ansari, Bilal Ahmad from Research Cell and other dignitaries lighted the lamp and offered floral tribute.
