As India observed the 13th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks on Friday, US State Secretary Antony Blinken remembered the victims, including six Americans, and said it is long overdue for the perpetrators to face justice.
Taking to Twitter, Antony Blinken wrote, “Thirteen years have passed since the 26/11 terrorist attack in Mumbai. On today’s anniversary, we remember the victims, including six Americans, and the resiliency of Mumbaikars. It is long overdue for the perpetrators to face justice.”
On Friday, the country observed the 13th anniversary of the 2008 Mumbai terror attack that left at least 166 people, including fifteen police officers and six Americans, killed and over 300 injured.

10 terrorists from Pakistan had attacked Maximum City, striking simultaneously at five major locations including Oberoi-Trident Hotel, Taj Mahal Palace and Tower Hotel, a Jewish cultural centre – Chabad House at Nariman Point, Leopold Cafe and Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station within a period of four days.
One of the 10 terrorists, identified as Ajmal Kasab, was captured alive. He was from Pakistan’s Faridkot district.
India and several other countries, including the US, have repeatedly called upon Pakistan to bring the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attacks accused to justice but no such firm initiative has been taken yet.
Pakistan-based radical cleric Hafiz Saeed’s Jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD) is the front organisation for the Lashkar-e-Taiba which is responsible for carrying out the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
