MOHALI: Punjab Police booked former Aam Aadmi Party leader Kumar Vishwas and former AAP MLA Alka Lamba and sent teams to their residences in Ghaziabad and New Delhi to serve them notices on Wednesday for making ‘inflammatory statements’ against Delhi CM and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal.
The two former AAP leaders have been booked for wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause a riot, indulging in wanton vilification, voluntarily causing hurt, wrongful restraint, and criminal conspiracy at Ropar Sadar police station. The case against them has been registered under Sections 153, 153A, 505, 505 (2), 116 read with Sections 143, 147, 323, 341, 120-B of the IPC and 125 of the Representation of the Peoples Act at Ropar Sadar police station.
A team of Punjab Police reached the residence of Vishwas and served him the notice. Vishwas tweeted on Wednesday:
“Punjab police has arrived at my door early in the morning. I am warning you, Bhagwant Mann that the man sitting in Delhi who you are allowing to play with the power given to you by the people of Punjab, will one day betray you and Punjab. Remember my warning.”
Just before the Punjab polls, a viral clip showed Vishwas speaking against Kejriwal and alleging he had links with Khalistani terrorists.
