New Delhi: Riding on captain Eoin Morgan’s 121, England reached 234 in the first match of the Tri-Series against Australia in Sydney on Friday.
Despite early hiccups, it was the newly appointed captain who held fort to help his team put up a decent total against a formidable Australian side. Mitchell Starc scalped four wickets for Australia, while James Faulkner grabbed three.
Electing to bat, England lost wickets at regular interval. But with Morgan keeping his ground, they could at least post a competitive total.
