No political pressure in Pushkar murder probe: Rajnath Singh

“There is no political pressure and an impartial inquiry is being carried out by Delhi Police,” he told the media. “Delhi Police inquiries are always impartial,” he added.

However, last week Congress leader Shashi Tharoor pledged full cooperation in investigation of his wife Sunanda Pushkar’s murder case and said that the inquiry must be without any ‘political pressure’ and ‘pre-determined outcome’

Expressing concern over the way investigation was being done into the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Friday demanded a professional police probe without any political pressure or consideration and pre-determined outcome.

Delhi Police had on January one registered a case of murder in connection with Sunanda’s death under Section 302 of IPC on the basis of an AIIMS medical report that concluded that her death was unnatural and due to poisoning but did not reveal the nature and the quantity of the poison.

A Special Investigating Team has also been formed to probe the case from scratch.

Pushkar, 52, was found dead in a luxury hotel’s room in Delhi on January 17, 2014. Police said she was poisoned to death.
