KATHMANDU, JANUARY 05

Nepal recorded 370 new coronavirus infections in last 24 hours, pushing the nationwide tally to 830,002 while the death toll remained at 11,601 as no fatalities were recorded on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 813,176 with 239 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 10,267 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 6,715 were PCR tests while 3,552 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,894,533 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 65 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 435.

Nepal’s Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

The country’s active Covid-19 case count currently is 5,225.

Currently, there are 98 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Tuesday, Nepal had witnessed 355 cases of the respiratory infection while three persons had succumbed to the disease in the same period.
