Jumping Minds is a Deep Tech mental health app powered by an engaged community, smart AI bot, and self-care tools. The app was recently named among the Best Android apps of 2021 for India by Google. The app is said to provide an ‘anonymous safe’ space to anyone facing mental stress and is designed to make them feel better. “We are on a mission to spread one billion-plus smiles by making mental health easy, accessible, and fun, as we believe that ‘Feeling Better’ is every individual’s basic need,” tells Ariba Khan, founder and CEO, Jumping Minds, to TOI Tech-Gadgets Now. An IIT Roorkee and IIM Bangalore alumni, Ariba has been closely associated with the healthtech industry for the past eight years and aims to build India’s largest mental health community. In an email interaction, she spoke about the Jumping Minds app, its mission and more.
How did it feel to feature on Google Play’s Best of 2021 list in India?
The entire Jumping Minds team was elated and humbled to be honored with Google Play’s Best of 2021 award as part of the Hidden Gems category. While Google Play has provided a safe and accessible platform for our users, the Google Play Award has really helped bring visibility and boost growth organically.
What do you think is the USP of your app that has helped you get here?
Unlike the majority of players who have adopted a therapy-first approach, Jumping Minds adopts a user-first approach to make wellness easy, accessible, and fun. A deep tech community platform, the app provides safe space to help people under stress through personalized solutions while keeping it low cost and highly scalable.
How has the pandemic changed things for you, what has been the biggest learning across 2021?
1 in 4 Indians is going through stress and anxiety challenges, which has increased significantly post covid-19 pandemic. To tackle the rising stress levels, we launched the Jumping Minds mobile app in 2021 as the user-friendly 24×7 go-to-feel better platform. And, in just less than five months, the app has created a tremendous positive impact in the country by spreading millions of smiles with its 100k+ strong community and 35 million-plus brand reach.
What plans do you have for the app for next year?
Our goal is to be there for anyone feeling low or going through stressful situations and help them feel better. Our product team is working enthusiastically towards going a level beyond and becoming the Google Play App of the year.
Any message that you have for users of your app?
One key message that we would like to give to everyone is that it is okay to not feel okay. Everyone goes through stressful and anxious moments. Just remember that you are not alone. And, anytime you want to talk it out or want to feel better, come to the Jumping Minds app, and we promise to try our best to bring a smile to your face.
