Crime Branch has arresteda notorious criminal namely Nitin (25years) s/o Nawal Singh r/o 72, Circular Road, Janta Colony, Shahdara, Delhi who was wanted in 3 cases of robbery/snatching. In the recent past, therewas sudden spurt in the incidents of cash, mobile robbery and snatching in thearea of East Delhi and NCR. To unearth the whole gang and nexus, sources were deployed and a dedicated team of Special Team, Crime Branch led by Inspr.Ravinder Verma consisting of HCs Birendra Singh, Harwinder Singh, Naresh Kumar,Kapil Kumar, Surender Singh, Yatender Kumar, and Cts. Ranbir, Sanjeev and Ashok Kumar under the close supervision of ACP Rajeev Kumar Ambasta and overall guidance of DCP Dinesh Kumar Gupta was constituted. Surveillance was mounted and it came into notice that one Nitin alongwithhis associates is involved in many robbery/snatching cases. A careful studyregarding the modus operandi of this gang was carried out and local sourceswere deployed in Delhi and NCR to collect the leads about this gang.
On 27.11.14, specific information was received that Nitin would come near Ramleela Ground, Vivek Viharto meet someone. Accordingly, a trap waslaid and the accused was apprehended. The accused was wanted in a robbery caseof PS Vivek Vihar, in which his two associates have already been arrested.
INTERROGATION & MODUS OPERANDI:-
On intensiveinterrogation, it was revealed that Nitin is the gang leader. He alongwith hisgang members had committed various snatchings/robberies of mobile, cash inDelhi. The gang members are quite desperate and they used toconsume a concoction of drugs before embarking on their journey to commit crime. The drugs provided them kick and the impulseto go to any extent for illegal gains.
On 20.11.14, at about 3-4 AM, Nitin alongwith his twoassociates namely Prince and Pawan had robbed two persons near Circular Road,Vivek Vihar and on rendering resistance, Pawan had injured one person with hisknife and looted cash Rs. 6500/- and two mobile phones. A case vide FIRNo.894/14 dated 20.11.14 u/s 392/394/397/412/34 IPC, PS Vivek Vihar wasregistered in this regard. Prince and Pawan were already arrested by localpolice and Nitin evading arrest.
